The Main Street® Approach has successfully revitalized communities across the United States for over 25 years. The four points of the Main Street® Approach work together in building a sustainable and complete community revitalization effort.
However, it takes much more than a template for revitalization to take place.
Downtown revitalization takes commitment.
- The four boroughs of Bristol, Morrisville, New Hope and Yardley, PA have
made a commitment by providing financial support and staff support of the
Landmark Towns of Bucks County initiative.
- The Delaware and Lehigh National Heritage Corridor has made a commitment
by organizing, supporting and staffing the Landmark Towns of Bucks County
initiative.
- The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania has made a commitment by providing funding
and technical support for the Landmark Towns of Bucks County initiative.
- Several local volunteer, non-profit organizations, business associations, and chambers of commerce have made a commitment to supporting the Landmark Towns of Bucks County initiative.
Now, it's your turn. Please make a commitment to support the Landmark Towns of Bucks County initiative today and make a difference in your community.
Following are several exciting ways for you to share your passion and talents while helping your community:
- Event Management: Help plan events.
- Event Staffing: Assist during a special event.
- Marketing: Participate in developing a downtown marketing campaign and cooperative marketing packages.
- Market Research and Analysis: Research, review, and analyze demographic data related to downtown's market area.
- Business Education: Share your knowledge of a particular subject with other business owners.
- Customer Surveys: Conduct face-to-face or email surveys.
- Business Recruitment: Participate in a team to target prospective businesses to attract them to the Landmark Towns.
- Design Review: Participate in the review and selection of facade grant recipients.
- Writing: Research and write articles about shopping locally.
- Volunteer Recruitment/Management: Solicit and review volunteer applications; assign volunteers to perform specific projects.
- Sponsorships: Help develop a sponsorship package and identify potential sponsors.
- Share Information: Be a Block Captain-help us to spread the word about Landmark Towns and other exciting downtown events and activities as well as inform us of current events and happenings.
- General/Administrative: Help out with administrative tasks.
- Photography: Take pictures at downtown events or meetings and workshops.
- Graphic Design: Share your graphic design talents.
